WhatsApp is one of the most popular social media apps used in almost every smartphone today. WhatsApp is also a highly shared social media platform. So the messages, photos, videos, etc. that we share through this social media platform contain our personal information.
Until now, the messages we exchange via WhatsApp will be saved on WhatsApp. Until we delete them ourselves. Because of this, sometimes, our personal information is settled. So the Disappearing Messages feature can minimize these problems.
With this Disappearing Messages feature, we can set our messages to disappear in 7 days. This means that in 7 days after turning on this feature, all those messages will automatically disappear. This feature allows you to verify the privacy of WhatsApp.
The following points are important here.
- For regular Chat, the user can turn on the Disappearing Messages feature, and in a group chat, only that group admin can control that feature.
- After turning on this new Disappearing messages feature, you will be able to send disappearing messages. That is, it disappears in 7 days. Also, the messages we exchanged before activating this feature will not be affected by this feature.
- If you do not use WhatsApp for 07 days when this feature is enabled, then all the old messages will disappear by the day you use WhatsApp. But until you open WhatsApp, there are previews of those messages in the notification.
- Also, if you reply to a Disappearing Message, the message will remain in the Chat even after 07 days.
- When we forward a Disappearing Message we received (if our Disappearing Messages feature is Off), it will remain in the Chat as a standard message.
- If the Disappearing messages feature is backed up before the messages disappear in an active state, all the Disappearing messages will disappear when the Backup is restored.
- Also, you need to save all the media content that you will get when the Disappearing message feature is activated. Otherwise, all of them will disappear after seven days.
