What is so special about Gorilla Tag?

3 Min Reading

“Reject Humanity!” That’s the very slogan of the Gorilla tag also known as G tag. This is not just your ordinary typical everyday game; Gorilla Tag allows you to immerse yourself into a world of apes. A virtual jungle! Become a Gorilla and live in the forest. Use your arms and legs to climb trees, jump from one branch to another, swing from wines, and meet other gorillas. Go wild. Sounds like an adventure, right?
The best part is Gorilla Tag uses Virtual Reality (VR) so when I say, your arms and legs above, I literally mean it. No game sticks, mouse or keypads! This way you will definitely feel like a Gorilla. So swinging by a wine or toppling Gorilla tag as the name suggests, lets you tag other Gorillas within the game. The best part is Gorilla Tag uses Virtual Reality (VR) so when I say, your arms and legs above, I literally mean it. No game sticks, mouse or keypads! This way you will definitely feel like a Gorilla. So toppling down a branch or jumping from a tree use your own body to do the workout.

Gorilla tag as the name suggests, lets you tag other Gorillas within the game. Now this can be played in Single-player mode or Multi-Player. Everyone who plays is a Gorilla. One of the Gorillas is randomly picked to be the infected one. That one will be placed in the middle. While other Gorillas try to go past it and reach the winning line. If you get tagged by it, Well then you get infected. So forth it starts again and continues. In multi-player mode, you can choose your team. This gives you the opportunity to hang out with your friends, message each other, form a team, and play. When you play with a team communication is key. You need to come up with a game plan and how to avoid the infected Gorilla as a team. Hideout places, Escape routes, Mission plans, and much more!

The game sounds pretty upfront and simple, but what you don’t expect is the breathtaking scenery of the gameplay! The map of the Gorilla tag is so sick. You can pick your terrain of chase, But the best part? It varies from the Wild to the City. You can choose the map and locations. The terrain you choose to play can always be changed. Is that it? No! There are game modes that you can choose from in Gorilla Tag; Casual, infection, Hunt, and Paint Brawl.

  1. The Casual Mode is a single-player. This mode does not give you any missions to finish or tag anyone. It is simply there to explore the map of the game. To familiarise yourself with the map and the actions. Socializing with others and getting to know each other. Practice jumping, and running in the game.
  2. Infection Mode as it was mentioned earlier, An Infected Monkey is called Lava Monkey. Lava Monkey will chase around others, if it infects another then that one becomes the Lava. So forth the game continues.
  3. Hunt Mode This is a mode I find quite amusing. Bring your action pack with your
detective Sherlocks! Each player is given a target, This target needs to be hunted
down. Clues about the target’s appearance, location coordinates, their smell will
be given. You need to figure it out and hunt them down! It adds an extra edge
cause while hunting your target, you need to avoid being hunted too. If you get
caught you turn into an Ice Gorilla, which makes all your movements slower!
  4. Paint Brawl Mode Easy! This is played in teams. You are given balloons to protect
and slingshots to shoot. Shoot at your other team, and whoever runs out of the
balloons and fail to protect them fail!

As you see Gorilla Tag is a very simple game. Which is exactly what it makes so special.
Its rules are simple, like how kids play, But isn’t it great to make new friends and play
a round of Tag in an amazing Jungle packed with Gorillas!
